Re: Gilbert C. Steindorff
Dear Dan:

Thank you for you thoughtful letter of recommendation on behalf of Bert Steindorff. It
will be helpful to the Admissions Committee in our evaluation of his application. He sounds like a very interesting applicant.

Ron Sokol and I were both members of the Class of ‘62 and I regard him as a good friend.
Though I have not seen him for many years, we chat by phone from time to time. The fact that
Ron saw fit to visit with this applicant for an extended period is a recommendation in and of itself. In my view Ron is not likely to spend time with people unless he finds them interesting and I think in this regard he is rigorously selective.

Warm regards.

Sincerely,

Al [handwritten]
